Uncle Johnny, what am I to do without you razzing me? My Grand-daughter Tyler, would sit with him. He was so proud of her going into the Air Force. I am sure he was there in spirit as she graduated from basic training 5 days after his passing. Thank you for your many years of service to the Air Force and the United States of America. I will miss you.

Now we can't talk about how he carried me around on his hip when I was a baby. I will miss the old curmudgeon. BLESS You Carmine, for all you did for him. I love you and I love him. Rest his mind and body. GOD be with you both.

I clearly remember the time when as kids Johnny and I got behind the table and with our fingers, scraped and ate the icing from Mrs. Burdette's cake.

I was privileged to serve for a few years with MSgt. Burdett at Büchel German Air Base in what was West Germany during the Cold War.
We always called him “Sheriff”. He was a great man that I throughly liked and always appreciated. He always had an easy going attitude and he never jumped to conclusions.
He was respected and liked by everyone.
He’ll be missed, if that I have no doubt.

WE was very good friends. After he came home from Airforce i visited him and his wife a few times, I remember he wanted some Bib Aprons for when he ate he wouldn't get food all over him , he wanted pockets on it he said the pockets would catch the crumbs and he could have a snack later.
