Obituary of Johnny "Toby" William Gray

Spencer, TN-Mr. Johnny William “Toby” Gray, age 73, passed away Wednesday November 18, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Johnny was born January 4, 1947 to the late Lonnie and Pearl Kilgore Gray.  He was self-employed and was of the Baptist faith.

Johnny loved spending time with his family, fishing and working outdoors with his nephew Carl Shockley.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers; Marvin and Bobby Gray, sisters; Joyce Shockley and Caroline Bouldin.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife; Debbie Clendenon Gray, sons; Johnny (Terrie) Gray, Justin (Carrie) Gray, daughter; Nichole Gray, grandson; Anthony Gray, great-grandchildren; Bentley Phillips, Lexie, Michael and Madi Clark, special nephew; Carl Shockley and a large extended family.

Funeral services will be held Saturday November 21, 2020 at 2:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. Darrell Nance officiating.  Burial will follow in the Shockley Cemetery.  Visitation hours are Saturday 10:00am till time of service at 2:00pm.

The family sends special thanks to Amedisys Hospice for all their loving care during Johnny’s illness.
