Obituary of Shirley E Brady

Spencer – Mrs. Shirley Ethel Hitchcock Brady, 98, of Spencer, TN, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Chattanooga, TN. Born May 17, 1918, in Vining Springs , Van Buren County, TN. She is predeceased by her parents, Morris Sampson and Mary Leona Jaco Hitchcock and her late husband, John Bouldin Brady of Spencer, TN. She is survived by two sons and two daughters, Hugh James Brady and wife Ann of Huntsville, AL and Mary Grace Pruitt and husband Jim of Huntsville, AL, Nancy Ann Womack and husband Terry of Chattanooga, TN and John B. Brady and wife Debi of Edmond, OK. Other survivors include ten grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and four brothers, Leard Hitchcock, Liston Hitchcock and wife Kathleen, Gerald Hitchcock and wife Mary Ann and Morris S. Hitchcock and wife Jean. Visitation hours are Friday, November 18 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 19, in the Layne Funeral Home Chapel, 151 Argo Road, Spencer, TN followed by a graveside service at Long Cemetery with Freddie Harding officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, November 18 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and 9:00 AM -10:00 AM Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Spencer, TN.
