My sympathies to the family of Marvin Philips. It would have been nice if he were still alive. But may it be a comfort to you to know that he isn't suffering and that someday you will find out why it happened this way.

There is no greater love than the one who is willing to lay down their life on behalf of their family and friends. Marvin’s sacrifice will forever remind me of how precious our own lives are and how fortunate we are to live free. I am also reminded how wonderful a gift Marvin gave that would allow others that same opportunity. Marvin, I am forever grateful to you and your family. I will never forget what you have done for me. Welcome Home.

I will always remember Marvin as a hardworking young man who was loved and respected by his family and friends. When Marvin graduated from training, my dad (Hubert Henry) and I took Aunt Ruby (his mother) and his girlfriend Phyllis Lawson to his graduation ceremony. I am so proud that we got to say good-bye. Thank you for your service and Rest in peace.
