PALMER - Ethel Mae Gifford Cantrell, 96, died Monday, August 30, 2010. She was born in Tracy City to Russell and Daisy Perry Gifford who preceded her in death along with her husband, Nobel Cantrell; sisters, Modine Knighton, Ruby Finch, Emma Meckisis and Johnnie Partin; brothers, Eugene and Bobby Gifford; nephew, Gary Gifford. She is survived by her son, Lowell Thomas (Janie) Cantrell, Sr., Athens, TN; grandchildren, Kimberly Bryant, Julia (Billy) Key, DeAnna (Daniel) Robinson and Lowell T. (Melissa) Cantrell, Jr.; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; nephews, Mike Gifford, Herschel (Jeanetta ) Finch, Jr., Larry Finch, Johnny Meckisis, Jr. and Butch (Sue) Patterson; nieces, Tonya (Gene) Cornelison, Donna Gail (Glen) Basham, Betty Bush, Anita Crabtree, Bonnie (Gene) Layne, Patsy Roy, Pauline Dart, Patsy Woods and Pam Hodge; caregivers, Rita and Robert Taylor. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Bill Smith officiating. Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Friday at the Palmer City Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM til 7:00 PM Thursday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
