Northcutts Cove - Hoover Smartt, 82, died Monday, August 16, 2010 at the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center. He was a member of Little Creek Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran. He was born October 05, 1927 to Marcus and Lillie Smartt who preceded him in death along with his wife, Zella Mae Tanner Smartt; brothers, Leonard and Jessie Smartt. He is survived by his daughters, Joyce (the late Dalton) Myers and Kathy Ann (Jim) Richardson; son, Larry E. (Diane) Smartt; brothers, Tommy, H.B. and Markus Smartt; grandchildren, Teresa, Cindy, Dewayne, Bradley and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Edwin and Eric; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Dal Barrett, Jim King and Steve Templeton officiating with burial to follow in the Northcutts Cove Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation: 6:00 PM til 10:00 PM Tuesday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN.
