McMinnville - Mrs. Margaret Sanders Shafer, 74, died Sunday, August 15, 2010. She attended the Sunny Hills Baptist Church in Centertown, TN and was born in Palmer, TN on September 15, 1935 to Sam and Carrie Sanders who preceded her in death along with her husband, Leroy Shafer; son, Mark Wesley Shafer; step-daughter, Linda Conner; brothers, Melvin and Richard Sanders; sister, Betsy Sanders. She is survived by her sisters, Pat Hughes, Nancy (Gifford) Callahan and Joann (Earl) Campbell Young; grandchildren, Tony, Kimberly, Russell and Paul; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday in the Layne Funeral Home Chapel with Minister John Jones officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery. Visitation: 12:00 Noon til 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Sunny Hills Baptist Church in Centertown, TN and 9:00 AM til 9:00 PM Wednesday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
