Obituary of Emma Gladys Smith

ALTAMONT - Mrs. Emma Gladys Smith, 77, passed away Sunday morning August 15, 2010 at her home. She was a member of the Church of Christ at Altamont. She was born in Warren County on May 12, 1933 to Walter and Ocie Rhea who preceded her in death along with her husband, J.L. Smith; daughter, Linda Faye Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Betty (J.D.) Sanders and Bethel Smith; sons, Larry (Kathy), David and Roger Michael (Christine) Smith; sisters, Joyce Patrick and Mae (Elbert) Grissom; brothers, Suell (Joan), Jewell (Jo) and James (Betty) Rhea; grandchildren, Shannon and LeAnne Smith, Kim and Kayla Sanders, Michele May; step-grandchildren, Angela Patrick, Shanda Peterson, Christy and Alisha Myers; great-grandchildren, Shayla and Logan Smith, Austin and Colton May; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, George Kessler, Joe Gray and Jack Nichols officiating with burial to follow in the Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation: 2:00 PM - 9:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee. In Lieu of flowers at the families request contributions may be made to help with burial expenses.
