Obituary of Doris O. Burnett

Gruetli-Laager - Mrs. Doris O. McBee Burnett, 87, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010. She was born in Palmer, TN on May 03, 1923 to Alfred and Delia Parsons McBee who preceded her in death along with her brothers, Jimmy and Alvin Wade McBee; sister, Dorothy Meeks Geary Ross. She was a retired school teacher from the Grundy County School System, a 50 year member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star #266 Tracy City Chapter and 43 year member of St. Bernards Episcopal Church. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Burnett; daughters, Ann (Joe) Nunley and Vicki (Ricky) Ruehling; son, Edwin "Andy" (Dale) Burnett; grandchildren, Jamie (Tina) and Donnie (Cristal) Cooper, Patrick and Kristie Burnett, Dusty and Davy Ruehling; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Austyn, Jesse, Wyatt, Kollyn, Jacob, Graycee and Noah; several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery. A Eastern Star service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel. Visitation: 12:00 Noon till 10:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
