Gruetli-Laager - Hershel Wesley Grimes, 88, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010. He was a US Army Veteran and a member of Mt. Etta Freewill Baptist Church. He was born on May 02, 1922 to Fred and Mila Green Grimes who preceded him in death along with his wife, Ethel Grimes; sons, Carl Ray and Herbert Lee Grimes; granddaughter, Reva Kilgore; brothers, Herbert and Howard Grimes; sisters, Ola Shannon and Marie Wright. He is survived by his sons; Earl (Brenda), William (Connie), Charles (Carol), Wayne, Joe (Charlotte) and Benny (Bobbie) Grimes; daughters, Juanita Griffith, Carolyn (Darwin) Shipley, Ellen (Grady) Lemons and Irene (Terry) Campbell; brother, Harley Grimes; sisters, Alene Layne, Betty Kilgore and Katie Hobbs; 26 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in the Burkett's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation: Wednesday 7:00 PM till 10:00 PM, Thursday 10:00 AM till 10:00 PM. Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN
