Obituary of James Lionell Collins

Altamont - James Lionell Collins, 76, died Sunday, May 02, 2010 at his home. He retired from Carrier Corporation at Morrison, TN, A US NAVY Veteran and was of the Baptist faith. He was born in Alabama on February 17, 1934 to Eunice and Girlie Sims Collins who preceded him in death along with his son, James Ronald Collins; brothers, William R. Collins, Edward Collins and Lotis Collins; sister, Della Faye Evans. He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Collins; son, Jeffrey Collins; daughter, Shalon Collins, McMinnville, TN; sisters, Dorothy Sanders, Manchester, TN and Lucille Mahan, Guntersville, AL; brothers, Harold (Sue) Collins, Coalmont, TN and Rufus Collins, Ider, AL; grandchildren, Christopher Kaylon Stanton and Payton Jevin Cannon. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Dal Barrett and Melvin Childers officiating with burial to follow in the Airview Cemetery. Visitation after 5:00 PM till 10:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN.
