PALMER - Alvin Lee "Chief" James, 80, died Saturday February 27, 2010. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his father, Gordon James; brothers, Clarence Allen, Tommy and Stanley James. He is survived by his mother, Agnes Banks James; brother, Marshall Floyd James; sisters, Hallie Knight, Margaret Ward and Pollie Tucker. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Riley Anderson officiating with burial to Follow in the Browns Chapel Cemetery with military honors. Visitation after 11:00 AM till 10:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee
