Obituary of James Edward Layne

Gruetli-Laager - James Edward Layne, 77, died Monday, January 11, 2010 at the Nashville VA Medical Center. He proudly served his country in the Korean War as a sailor in the US Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clell Sr. and Mary Sanders Layne; brothers, Carl, Claude, Tommy and Clell Layne, Jr.; sisters, Sally, Grace and Linda; son, Brent Layne. He is survived by his wife, Irene Braden Layne; sons, Dan (Vicki), Bruce and Jim (Karen) Layne; daughter, Donna Layne; grandchildren, April, Julie, Scotty, Hollie, Shane and Jake; great-grandchildren, Nakkia, Bryson and Ariel; brothers, Kenneth and Rex; sisters, Ruth, Betty, Mary and Sue Ann; several nieces and nephews and faithful dog, Leo. Funeral services were Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Minister Josh Layne officiating with burial to follow in the Swiss Colony Cemetery with Military Honors.
