Altamont - Mr. Ronald Douglas "Beaver" Smartt, 55, passed away Friday July 24, 2015. He was born in McMinnville, Tennessee on July 1, 1960. He was a graduate of Grundy County High School and had worked at Carrier, Findley Gardner and Bashams. He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Jane Tate Smartt.
He is survived by his father, Tommy M. Smartt; sister, Penny Sons; brother, Rickey Smartt; nieces and nephews, Whitney (Jeremy) Brown, Becky Rymer, Cory Smartt, Darin Sons and Haley Rae Sons; great niece and nephew, Carter and Kyndyl Brown.
Funeral services will be 4:00 Saturday August 1, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Minister Micah Roberts officiating with burial to follow in the Altamont Cemetery. Visitation: 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM Friday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, Tennessee. www.laynefuneralhome.com
