Obituary of Mildred Lawson Hillis

Spencer, TN-Mildred Ann Lawson Hillis, age 84, passed away Thursday January 5, 2023 at Cookeville Regional Hospital.  Mildred was born on April 5, 1938 to the late Joseph McReynolds Sr. and Sophia Bryant McReynolds Stiles. She was a member of Spencer First Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, son: Tim Lawson, husbands; William (Bill) Lawson and Marion Hillis, brothers; Joseph McReynolds Jr., Samuel McReynolds, sister; Sonja (Neil) Woods.

Mildred is survived by her loving family; sons; Samuel (Nancy) Lawson, Troy (Gail) Hillis, bother; J. L. (Joyce) McReynolds, sister-in-law; Dot McReynolds, grandchildren; Ashley Lawson, Brittany Lawson, Shawn Hillis, Brady Hillis, great-grandchild; Caleb Lawson, nephew; Trace Woods.

Funeral services will be held Sunday January 8, 2023 at 2:00pm in Layne Chapel with Bro. Wayne Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery. Visitation times are Saturday 4:00pm to 9:00pm and Sunday 9:00am till time of service at 2:00pm.
