Obituary of Sam Neely
Spencer, TN- Samuel Jay “Sam” Neely, age 43, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, July 4, 2022. Sam was a Van Buren County native, born on December 15, 1978 to the late J. C. and Laura Dodson Neely. Sam worked as a Corrections Officer for many years and was a carpenter. He was a 1997 graduate of Van Buren County High School and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Neely.
Sam is survived by his loving family; Children: Jade and Blake Neely (mother – Carla) and Aubree Neely (mother – Jamie); Grandchildren: Jahden and Azilyn Evans, Taylor and Allie Hill; Siblings: Roger (Stephanie) Neely, Pat (Mike) Rankin, Michael (Cindy) Neely, Scott (Sasha) Neely; Special Sister: Charity Neely Evans; Sister-in-law: Julie Neely; Fiancé: Letha Garrett; Special Life-Long Friends: Dean Scarbrough and Benji Davis.
Several nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.
Funeral services will be held, Thursday, July 7th at 1:00pm at Mooneyham Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Sullivan and Bro. Johnathan Hankins officiating. Burial will follow in Myers Cemetery. Visitation is being held at the church and will begin at 1:00pm, Wednesday, July 6th and will continue until time of service at 1:00pm, Thursday, July 7th.
