Obituary of Bruce Rigsby
Spencer, TN-Mr. Bruce Rigsby, age 68, passed away Wednesday December 29, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Hospital with his loving wife at his bedside. Bruce was born August 13, 1953 to the late Roscoe Burton and Betty Jane Rogers Rigsby. He was a long time truck driver, timber grader, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a 1972 graduate of Van Buren County High School and attended the Church of God. He married the love of his life, Peggy Martin on August 2, 1975 and they have spent 46 wonderful years together.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother; Paul Rigsby, father and mother in-law; Elmer and Luedean Martin, brother in-laws; Kenneth Denney, William Conley and Freddie Martin.
Bruce is survived by his loving family, wife; Peggy Martin Rigsby of Spencer, daughter; Amy (Sean) Smith of Spencer, sons; Adam Rigsby of Spencer and Allen (Jenny) Rigsby of Cookeville, sisters; Diana (Ernie) Burdett of Spencer and Debbie (Tim) Wanamaker of the Tarleton Community, grandchildren; Kyra Measles, Bryson Smith and Elijah Rigsby, step-mother; Marie Allen Rigsby, in-laws; Sharon Rigsby (Shannon) Mooneyham, Josephine Conley, Charlotte and Hugh Hillis, Judy Denney, Rella (Brad) McCoy and Nell Brown. Many nieces, nephews, and extended family also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday January 2, 2022 at 2:30pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. Dennis Deweese and Bro. Billy Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in the Molloy Cemetery. Visitation times are, Saturday January 1st 4:00pm to 9:00pm and Sunday January 2nd 10:00am till time of service at 2:30pm.
