Obituary of James Banker
Spencer, TN-Mr. Elvis James Banker, age 64, passed from this life Monday June 7, 2021, at home in Spencer from an extended illness. James was born in Van Buren County on January 21, 1957, to the late Kate Banker. He was a maintenance technician with Bledsoe Regional Correctional Facility. James was a graduate of Van Buren County High School Class of 1974, attended the Church of God, enjoyed hunting, fishing and being in the outdoors.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by sister; Wilma Potter.
James is survived by his loving family, wife; Ann Hankins Banker of Spencer, sons; Brian Hankins and Christopher (Yvonne) Banker both of Spencer, brothers; Bobby (Lecoe) Banker of Baxter and Billy (Betty Jo) Banker of Spencer, grandchildren; Collin and Ayden Banker. A large extended family and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday June 10, 2021 at 2:00pm, in the Layne Chapel, with Bro. Lynn Potter and Bro. R.C. Christian officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery. Visitation times are Wednesday June 9th 12 noon to 9:00pm and Thursday June 10th 10:00am till time of service at 2:00pm.
