Obituary of Karen Louise Moffitt

Spencer, TN-Karen Louise Simmons Moffitt, 62, passed away Wednesday September 2, 2020 at home surrounded by her loving family. Karen was born in Spencer on August 27, 1958 to the late Joe Paul and Anna Mae Hodge Simmons. She was a former custodian for Van Buren County Board of Education and was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents Karen was preceded in death by brothers; A. C., Donnie, Rickey and Joe Darrell Simmons, brother-in-law; Ray Crouch.

Karen is survived by sons; Christopher (Serena) Pettit, Chad (Michelle) Moffitt, husband; Glenn Moffitt, brother; Eric Paul Simmons, sisters; Wanda Crouch, Linda (Keith) Pettit, Sandra (Johnny) Measles, grandchildren; Allen and Lacey Pettit, Rayn Posey, Tristian Moffitt, Haley Brooke Tobbitt, Lindsea Grissom, Sara (Tim Crowe) Bivins, Allison (John Tyler) Dodson, great-grandchildren; Emery and Elizabeth Bivins, Adeline and Aidan Crowe and James Luke Dodson, sisters-in-law; Jessie Ann Simmons and Annetta Simmons. Many nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday September 4, 2020 at 2:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. Michael Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Sodom Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Thursday from 3:00pm to 9:00pm and Friday 10:00am till time of service at 2:00pm.
