Spencer, TN-Mr. Harold Eugene “H. E.” Measles passed away Wednesday December 25, 2019 at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital from a lingering illness. H. E. was born in Spencer on June 22, 1942 to the late Burrell and Berta Ray McBride Measles. He was a lifelong resident of Spencer, retired from Taft Youth Center, attended Spencer Church of Christ and was a graduate of Van Buren County High School Class of 1960.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Arliss Measles.
He is survived by his loving wife; Phyllis Bickford Measles, son; Harold (Carla) Measles of Spencer, daughter; DeAnn Measles (Chuck) Long of Lonewood, brothers; Wayne (Shirley) Measles of Cookeville, Tommy Measles of Spencer and Donnie (Linda) Measles of Pikeville, sister; Audrey Clendenon of Spencer, grandchildren; Steffen (Savannah) Cameron, Nick (Candace) Long, Dannon (Cole) Stickler, Alexa (Sheldon) Hitchcock and Tyrus (Carrie) Keel, great-grandchildren; Riley and Ava Grace Cameron, Kloee and Maverick Long.
A graveside service will be held Saturday December 28, 2019 at 2:30pm at Spencer Town Cemetery with Bro. R. C. Christian officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday the 28th from 10:00am till 2:00pm at Layne Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the Spencer Town Cemetery Trust Fund.
