Obituary of Cleston Clendenon

Spencer, TN-Mr. Howard Cleston Clendenon, 80, passed away Saturday October 5, 2019 at Chattanooga Memorial Hospital from an extended illness.  He was a native of Van Buren County, retired from Wagner Electric and was a member of Spencer Church of Christ.

Cleston was born September 10, 1939 to the late Loyd and Eula Hitchcock Clendenon. He was also preceded in death by four brothers; Milton, Jewell, Loyd Jr., and Harold Clendenon, Five sisters; Cleta Rhea, Betty Keener, Francis Sullivan, Martha Hale and Hazel Shockley.

He is survived by his loving wife; Audry Measles Clendenon of Spencer, sisters; Ruby Decoursey of Mt. Juliet and Juanita Shockley of Spencer. Several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, a large extended family and his faithful companion Izzy also survives.

Graveside services will be held Monday October 7, 2019 at 2:00pm in Spencer Town Cemetery with Bro. R. C. Christian officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 10:00am till 1:30pm at Layne Funeral Home.
