Obituary of Billy Wayne Mitchell Sr.

Spencer, TN-Mr. Billy Wayne Mitchell Sr, 76, of Spencer passed from this life Thursday March 14, 2019 at his home from an extended illness. He was born March 1, 1943, in Spencer, to the late William and Mattie Simmons Mitchell. He was a member of United Community Church, worked in the logging and sawmill industry and spent many years teaching Sunday School.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; Eugene, Harold and Woodrow Mitchell.

He is survived by his loving wife; Brenda Brock Mitchell of Spencer, Sons; Billy Wayne Mitchell Jr. of Spencer, Timmy (Crystal) Mitchell of Spencer and Ricky (Amanda) Johnson of Spencer, daughters; Holly (Enoch) Brown of Woodbury and Amy (Nick Hillis) of Spencer.  Grandchildren; Haley (Zach) Underwood, Jacob Henry of Spencer, Thomas Johnson of Spencer, Andrew, Cody and Lee Mitchell all of Spencer and Austin Brown of Woodbury, great-grandchildren; Jahden Henry, Ryleigh Underwood, Michael Simmons, Nevaeh Henry and Ava Underwood.

Funeral services will be Saturday March 16, 2019 at 2:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Jeremiah Manus and Bethel Mooneyham officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Town Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday March 15, 2019 from 2:00pm to 9:00pm and Saturday 8:00am till service time at 2:00pm.
