Obituary of Wayford Price Argo

Spencer, TN-Mr. Wayford Price Argo, 78, passed away Monday February 11, 2019 at NHC Sparta from an extended illness.  Wayford was born September 18, 1940 to Hirman Todd and Orphi Maynard Argo both preceding him in death.  He was a self-employed mechanic and heavy equipment operator.  He loved farm animals and enjoyed attending auctions.  He was a loving husband, father and loved being with and helping his grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his loving wife; Wilma Joe Sullivan Argo, daughter; Sybil Martin, great-grandson; Elijah George, sisters; Bonnie Argo Phillips and Barbara Argo Martin, brothers; Junior, Murphy, Howell (Hal) and Tom Argo.

He is survived by his daughter; Ann (Gary) Womack of Spencer, grandchildren; Shawna Pettit, Junior Moody, Jennie King, and Heather Miller, great-grandchildren; Allison Moody, Javen Kress, Molly Mayfield, Charlie Scott, Beth and Shane Armstrong and Faith Walling, great-great-grandchildren; Aryan and Able Turner, Graelyn Murphy.  Several nieces, nephews and a large extended family also survives.

Funeral services will be 1:00pmThursday February 14, 2019 in the Layne Funeral Chapel with Bro. Wayne Sullivan officiating.  Visitation will begin Wednesday February 13, 2019 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm and Thursday from 10:00am till time of service.

At Mr. Argo’s request, he will be cremated after the service and his ashes will be buried in Spencer Town Cemetery next to his dear wife.  A graveside service will be held at a later date.
