Spencer, TN-Mr. Floyd Edward Shockley, 66, of the Piney Community in Van Buren County, passed way Thursday November 22, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Hospital from an extended illness.  He was of the Christian faith, retired from the timber industry and a lifelong resident of Van Buren County.

Floyd was born May 5, 1952 in Spencer to the Joe Wiley Shockley and Demie Martin Shockley who preceded him in death.  Also, preceding him in death was his brothers; James, Ray, Thomas, Johnny, Charles and Claude Shockley, sisters; Emma Mealer, Janice Swindell, Dorothy Jean and Maude Shockley.

He is survived by daughters; Catina Jan Bouldin of Dunlap, Crystal Gail Shockley of Spencer and Jennifer Lynne Shockley Dodson of Spencer, sisters; Nellie Bickford, Mamie Rice and Mattie Russell, grandchildren; Colby Bouldin, Dakota King and Archer Wylie Shockley, great-grandchildren; Zoe and Skyler Bouldin, special friend Marilyn Steakley, several nieces, nephews and extended family also survive.

Funeral Services will be Saturday November 24, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Layne Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wayne Sullivan officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 AM till time of service.  Burial will follow in the Shockley Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers the family request assistance with the funeral expense.
